Picks

Just to put Ciara’s historic run in perspective: She’s on pace to score 44 points this season.  If she continued on that pace – and no one else got a single pick right for the rest of the year – she would still be in last place by three points.

Mom and Dad, you need to let Ciara have computer access. She’s getting older and has been deprived for long enough. How else is she going to be able to keep up with the rest of us? Even I was allowed to dial-up America On Line once in awhile when I was her age. Give the poor girl a chance to surf the net.

  2. Here we go Patriots!!

I loved the noise AOL used to make and the 8 minutes it used to take to “log on”, if you will…

I love that we were savvy enough to be excited when AOL would connect at 144,000 [some form of cyberspeed measurement] instead of like 36,000 [same]. If the slower connection showed up we’d be like, no, just sign off and try again, not even worth trying to surf the ‘net at that speed.

While enjoying a lovely time here in London, trekking up to the Harrow School with wellies on, having watched cricket from Hillmorton until we placed sharp objects in our eyes, taking the Underground all over Queen Elizabeth’s half acre, and then today going to the New Wembley Stadium and enjoying the Patriots game today, Mom and I are hurriedly taking English lessons as Mom has fallen back in love with London and said I need to brush up. Stadium and game was incredible and the whole scene seemed more like a Super Bowl than anything as everyone was in a good mood, no animosity, no drunken Pats fas telling us when to stand, sit, chant, cheer or belch. Mom conducted a special prayer service after the game with and for the Bucs fans as they were self admittedly a pretty sad and pathetic bunch. Pats fans seemed to outnumber other fans by at least a 10 to 1 ratio all over London. Betsy and Mom on the town alone tomorrow and their faces will still be painted from today so it will be interesting to see how they are received on a non-game day. Cheers!
