2019 Season / Week 1 Picks

Hello and welcome to the 2019 McManus Picks season!

This is the league’s 16th-straight year of competition, which is impressive. There has not been an impressive amount of parity, however, as the same person has won the league almost half the time. There has been an impressive amount of parody, however, what with all the clever nicknames. So good work on the years, let’s work on the parity and keep up the parody. (Sorry if that sentence sounded a bit parroty.)

Before proceeding, some official business:

  • Tim and Marie, is Gaby officially ready to be our newest player?? Or is she committed to getting her pre-school degree before declaring for the draft?
  • My notes from last year indicated that there was a call for stricter rules on timeliness this year. Don’t know how to enforce that other than to use strongly worded language: Don’t be late or err so help me…
  • All this talk of parody reminds me of the time Matt’s dad gave me a pair-a-dee chinos he once wore.
As for Week 1, picks are up. Here’s the direct link. And here’s the Thursday night game:

Green Bay Packers (0-0) at Chicago Bears (0-0)

I have the Bears. Good luck!
Pat McManus
7-Time Champ & Player-Commissioner
