I couldn’t pick my own nose at this point
Waaaaay too many upsets today. This stupid league is too unpredictable (as evidence, Mom is winning). Buffalo almost beat “Quarterback-Playing-at-a-Higher-Level-Than-Anyone-In-the-History-of-the-League” (a direct quote from Ron Jaworksi earlier today, apparently he forgot about Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Brett Favre, and even Daunte Culpepper circa two years ago) and the Colts today, save for a terrible miss on a straight-away field goal in the fourth. That’s the one game I wanted to get wrong.
I also didn’t appreciate the jinx-fest that every football show on TV was administering this week, talking about the Pats not losing consecutive games in four years. Thanks, guys. The only time you manage to give the Patriots press , you jinx them. Here are a couple gems: “Tom Brady never has two straight bad games, he’ll be unstoppable!” and “The last time they lost two in a row, it was against the Jets.” Also, Phil Simms was having a tough speaking day this afternoon, if anyone else noticed. And Jim Nantz called Gostkowski’s first field goal “chippy.” I guess the kick and the air were roughhousing or something. Those two made that horrible loss horribly unbearable.
At least Jay Heaps doesn’t telegraph his PKs. Oh, wait.

A little help, Tim?
It’s 3:09 on Saturday afternoon and I have been refreshing my “Inbox” page furiously, but have yet to receive “This week’s games.” C’mon, Tim, get with it. This is my livelihood each week, getting my picks in before anyone else. Unfortunately the strategy has not been fruitful of late, mainly, I suspect, because others are stealing my picks and spinning them off as their own. Please, Tim, the picks.
